Ducks to get 'Mighty' again, Avs to honor Colorado with reported new third jerseys (Photos)

The Edmonton Oilers won’t be the only NHL team with a bright new orange third jersey, according to Icethetics. The Anaheim Ducks, who teased a third jersey release on Monday, will reportedly bring back not only the orange this coming season, but also a bit of their “Mighty” past.

Here’s an Icethetics rendering:

While it will be great to see Anaheim’s original logo back on the front of their jerseys again, that orange… that’s a lot of orange. The one-off Stadium Series display was nice and all, but seeing these 15 times next season...

Well, at least it’s not another black hockey jersey.

Icethetics also picked up some intel about the upcoming thirds for the Colorado Avalanche, who are going all-out to honor their home state.

From Icethetics:

First thought is that they remind me of the XFL-style jerseys the NFL's Buffalo Bills used to wear.

Nice touch with the throwback logo for the old Colorado Rockies and the state flag on the shoulder. It's certainly an upgrade over those blue monstrosities.

What do you think?
